The suspension on our robot is pretty cool. Each wheel can move up and down independently.
For some tasks such as the obstacle course, having suspension is a bonus. For other courses: it might hinder the robot, especially when we're trying to do the task autonomously. We need stability, not suspension!
So we've added these little tabs to the bottom of each wheel to turn off the suspension. The tabs screw onto the motor mount wood when not in use. They're green in the photo. A friend is going to cut these in metal for us to add some extra strength. Right now they're 3d printed.
This photo also gives a cool view of our homemade PCBs!
